Please tell us about yourself outside of your work – family, pets, home life etc
I recharge by spending time in nature with my two dogs. I feel a deep spiritual connection with plants and the natural world, and I turn to the green spaces whenever I need to feel cleansed and grounded. I am also a forager and herbalist, and use handpicked herbs like Mugwort and yarrow to clear my energy and enhance my readings.
Please tell us about your skills as a reader and how you conduct your readings
I am an intuitive and clairsentient empath, and my favourite tool for divination is the classic Rider-Waite tarot deck. It is rich with centuries of symbology, and is a wonderful way to pull insights from the collective unconscious into the spoken realms. I also read the bones when the situation calls for it - I have a collection of personally foraged (and entirely ethically sourced) bones that revealed themselves to me as I was walking, and I often call on the powers of their spirits to guide my readings, if they are willing.
What are your favourite subjects in your readings and what subjects can you look at
I particularly enjoy readings where I am asked to shed light on what might be going on in someone else’s head. I am an empath and can connect with their energy through the cards, and am often able to provide clarity and closure that the person I am connecting to may not be emotionally intelligent enough to give you. It is such a shame that so many people go through life leaving a trail of confusion behind them, and I consider it a great honour to be able to use my skills to tidy up the emotional mess that can cause.
What is your most memorable reading that you have given?
I was once asked to do a general reading for a lady who had no specific questions for the cards, but just wanted a general reading and to hear what stood out. I drew the cards for a simple past-present-future check in, and as I got to the future card I felt such a strong sense of her future emotional state that I got a wave of goosebumps moving up my whole body. This lady was going to be surrounded by so much love. She would be filled up with it, so much love it would be sloshing out onto everyone she met. It was like the sun in my mind, I could feel the warmth and the joy and the appreciation she would give and receive in return, and the silken strength of her emotional bonds lifting her up. I was trying to find the words to describe this feeling to her through my own tears, it was so beautiful. I think of her often, she was quite young and had a way to go before she reached that place, but I know she’s on her journey and I hope she doesn’t have to go through too much on the way there.
Please tell us why you enjoy reading for people
I love hearing people’s stories and connecting with their energies, even if it’s just for a quick reading. I am endlessly curious about people, all people, and I love getting this chance to delve really deeply into levels of the self that they might not even be consciously aware of. I love smoothing out energies that have got twisted. Every so often someone will come to me with a very anxious, almost frantic energy, talking like a machine gun, like they're full of bees. I really enjoy connecting with that energy and helping to smooth it out, bringing some insight to the issues that started the spin and putting them back in a place where they can choose their path, instead of just reacting.
When did you realise that you had a psychic ability?
I first realised I had unusual abilities when I was a child playing battleships with my brother. I had a sudden flash of knowledge, I’d seen the positions of all his ships in a dream the night before! I decimated his fleet before he’d landed one shot on mine and was feeling quite proud of myself, until he accused me of cheating. I remember being very confused that nobody believed that I’d seen it, that dreams were real sometimes. I was very young at the time and couldn’t understand why anyone would say something that wasn’t true, and very lonely that my family were accusing me of something I didn’t even understand. When I told my grandma, trying to make sense of it, she knew exactly what was going on, and helped guide me through the process of recognising and trusting my own senses. She gave me my first tarot deck and showed me how to use the cards to unlock insights from the universe, and I feel her with me every time I hold the cards.
Is there anything else that you want to tell us? (Your readings, spiritual experiences etc)
My style of reading is quite freeform, I don’t often do “layouts” as getting too caught up in rules and positions blocks my ability to connect intuitively. I connect with your energy while I shuffle the deck, and I often feel a block when I “dive right in”, so I like to have just a 30 second chat about what's on your mind when we first connect. This helps me to hold you in my third eye while I draw the cards, so if you prefer a reader who can jump right in cold you may not find my readings satisfying. Sometimes the answers I receive are not the ones you were hoping for, and while I will be gentle and compassionate while I break the news, I won’t tell you anything that isn’t true just to make you feel better. I see what I see, the universe wants the best for you and it is giving you the messages that will lead you to your best self - I will not ruin both our paths by speaking pretty lies.
